Gilbert Grape is a film set in the small town of Endora, where nothing much happens. Gilbert, the protagonist, is responsible for taking care of his developmentally disabled brother, Arnie, and his morbidly obese mother. One day, a woman named Becky comes to town and Gilbert falls in love with her. The film explores Gilbert’s struggle to balance his responsibilities and desires while dealing with the challenges of his unconventional family.
